Nothing is worse than having friends or family over to your home, only to have a strong cat urine odor hit them as they walk through the door. Yuck! Removing cat urine odor and stains from a carpet is a tough job, but don’t despair — you can get the strong ammonia smell out with these tips.
Removing the urine immediately is the best way to get rid of unpleasant odors. You may not be able to smell the cat urine on your rug, but your cat certainly can, and he or she may continue using your rug as a toilet until the urine is completely gone. If you have carpeting, we recommend pulling it up and soaking the padding and underside of the carpet as well.
